Nanjing launched its 28th International Plum Blossom Festival on February 19, with the main venue located at Meihuashan (Plum Blossom Hill).

The festival is hosted by the Nanjing Municipal People’s Government and co-organized by the city’s Department of Culture and Tourism and the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Administration Bureau.

The event features more than 30 activities, including a creative products market and a culture exhibition. Nanjing has also announced 14 prime locations for enjoying the plum blossoms, also the city flower, and introduced 6 travel routes to optimize visitor experiences.

At Meihuashan, the early flowering varieties are already in full bloom, with other varieties expected to burst into flowers soon.

As a hallmark tourism event, the festival has been celebrated annually since 1996. This year's festival will run until March 15.
