Yangzhou celebrated the 6th Ancient City Protection Day on September 26, with programs held on its century-old Pishi Street to help residents and visitors embrace traditional culture.

Covering an area of 5.09 square kilometers, Guangling Ancient City where the Pishi Street is located is home to well-preserved architectures of the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, intangible cultural heritage items and traditional crafts.

The programs encouraged people to visit 10 landmarks, learn about stories of the old town, and also get a close look at crafts making by recognized masters. There were also traditional games such as archery for children to have a great time while learning history.
