Jiangsu and the Veneto Region of Italy held an online seminar on the sustainable development of winter sports on July 20. 

The meeting was jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jiangsu Provincial Government and the province’s Sports Department in cooperation with the Department of International Relations of the Veneto Region. 

The seminar reviewed the history of the exchange between the two regions since the 1990s, including the sister-province relations forged in 1998 and partnership in the Winter Olympics. Efforts will be made to provide more cultural and sports products for the public of both regions, according to the meeting.  

The 2026 Winter Olympics, to be held in two Italian cities, means new opportunities for the two sides. At the meeting, the Jiangsu Ice and Snow Sports Association and the Veneto Winter Sports Federation signed a Letter of Intent on cooperation and exchange, marking a new start of the sports partnership as well as the steady growth of sister-province relations.
