Manufacture of Winter Games mascot to increase supply on February 8

Golden Phoenix Crafts and Toys Manufacturing in Nantong City, one of China’s three producers of "Bing Dwen Dwen" and "Shuey Rhon Rhon”, mascots of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, will resume production on February 8 to improve the supply after the Chinese New Year holiday.

Chinese Internet users have reported difficulty in purchasing merchandise of Bing Dwen Dwen, which features a chubby panda in a hard, transparent body suit. Golden Phoenix is also the only producer of the mascots in Jiangsu Province.

The company has been a supplier of mascots in many international meetings and events including Fuwa, Haibao and Lele, which were the mascots of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, the Shanghai Expo, and the Nanjing 2014 Summer Youth Olympics respectively. Golden Phoenix also manufactured mascots used for the first China Import and Export Fair in 2018 and the China Flower Expo 2021.

After the Bing Dwen Dwen design was announced in September 2019, the company received the invitation of the organizing committee for the Beijing 2022 to manufacture the mascot.
