The 4th China (Huai'an) International Food Expo opened on October 28 and saw deals reached for 75 projects with a total agreed investment of 80.7 billion yuan.
The fair included both on-site and online events in the form of exhibition, meeting and cooking shows. More than 350 domestic and foreign food enterprises showcased new technologies, achievements and products in the industry.
As the only international food fair in Jiangsu Province, it also hosted the finals of a competition among 18 chefs to cook classical Huaiyang cuisine dishes.
In the roundtable on food industry cooperation among RCEP member countries, officials from embassies and consulates in China as well as representatives from trade promotion agencies and companies exchanged views on many topics, such as trade facilitation.
Taking advantage of the good environment, rich agricultural resources and other factors, Huai’an has become home to nearly 200 food enterprises above designated size and a thriving full-fledged industry chain.
