Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH8057 departed from Sunan Shuofang International Airport for Narita International Airport at 10:30 am on November 18, marking the official resumption of regular passenger flights from Wuxi to Tokyo.
Ms. Wu, a passenger who is going to study in Japan, said she feels very lucky to take the first flight resumed and thinks the trip without a transit stop makes everything easier and relaxing.
Ms. Yuki, a Japanese working in Wuxi, said this is a great news for her as she hasn’t been able to go back home for nearly a year. In the past, she needed to take the bullet train to Shanghai first and then fly to Japan from the metropolis.
Wuxi is the second city in Jiangsu Province to resume the regular flights. The airport has recently completed renovation works such as installing transparent screens and creating exclusive zones to ensure the COVID-19 prevention and control. The VIP lounge has also opened a separate access and improved its air-conditioning system. The airport stays ready to take additional measures, such as adjusting the frequency and scope of testing, for effective COVID-19 response.
