World IoT Expo 2022 to open in Wuxi in November

The World Internet of Things Exposition 2022 will open in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province from November 25 to 27, according to a press conference by the city's government on October 26.

Hosted by the provincial government, the expo will include a major summit, an exhibition of IoT applications and products as well as six events.

The summit will invite experts and entrepreneurs in the the fields of intelligent and digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) to explore the development path of the IoT. The exhibition will highlight intelligent sensing, Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICVs) and industrial Internet products and services provided by industry giants and emerging companies.

The expo will adopt an online-onsite hybrid format and consist of a metaverse exhibition and networking opportunities across innovation, talent and funding fronts.

The expo has been held for six sessions since 2016, and attracted participants from 50 countries and regions. It has facilitated the signing of agreements for nearly 800 major projects with a total investment of more than 200 billion yuan.

The development of IoT started early in Jiangsu, and the city of Wuxi was tasked by the State Council to build the Innovation Park of Sensing Network in 2009. The province's IoT sector saw a revenue of 742 billion yuan in 2021, an increase of about 15%, taking the national lead in IoT development.
