Dingshu General Airport in Wuxi City officially opened for services on November 20 while agreements were also reached to build an aviation industrial park.

The construction of Dingshu Airport started in 2015, and it became the city's first Class A general aviation airport in August this year.

With a total planning area of 617 hectares, the industrial park will build the core zone of about 200 hectares in first phase, which will include several functional areas such as R&D and manufacturing, science and technology innovation, aircraft modification and repair, and leisure and residence space.

The launch ceremony also saw the signing of 18 deals with a total investment of 33.7 billion yuan. Wuxi also signed a memorandum of understanding with Brazilian company Embraer.
