Jiangsu has recently unveiled a blueprint for the development of the comprehensive transport network during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
The province envisions a nation-leading pilot zone of modern transport system by 2025. Jiangsu also endeavors to accomplish the “32121” goals, which mean a 3-hour link with major domestic cities, 2-hour travelling among the province’s cities that have subordinate districts, and one hour of commuting time within Nanjing-centered and Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou clusters, a decline of 2 percentage points for the logistics cost as a percent of GDP, and finally a total investment of one trillion yuan.
Data showed the province made new strides in building an integrated transport system during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) with an aggregated investment of 629.3 billion yuan, 160% of the amount in the 12th Five-Year Plan. Smooth progress was achieved in upgrading the railways, civil aviation, and river-crossing channels.
