Jiangsu’s catering sector reported total retail sales of 6.017 billion yuan during the May Day holiday, an increase of 14.6% compared with the same period in 2019.
The data showed a strong recovery of consumption from the disruption caused by COVID-19.
The province’s star-rated hotels and wedding banquets saw a big expansion of businesses amid better dishes and services. On May 1, 66 key catering enterprises in Nanjing achieved a turnover of over 24.9 million yuan.
