The Department of Culture and Tourism from Northwest China’s Gansu Province held a promotion in Nanjing City on March 25 and also signed a strategic agreement with its Jiangsu counterpart.
The cooperation will promote culture and tourism development in both provinces.
The "Nanjing-Yan'an-Lanzhou" flight will also open on March 28. There will be two flights a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Yan'an in Shaanxi Province is a former revolutionary base of the Communist Party of China (CPC). This flight is also part of efforts to promote "red tourism", tourism featuring visits to historical sites with a revolutionary legacy. Lanzhou is the capital and largest city of Gansu.
The flight will greatly shorten the travelling time and enable tourists to enjoy the best of three cities on the same day.
