Lianyungang’s discipline inspection and supervision commissions have played an important role in promoting the progress of building landmark projects of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The International Green and Intelligent Logistics Center for Automobiles in the city is the largest and most advanced in the province’s port sector. The five-story structure achieves zero carbon emissions and boasts a capacity to accommodate over 5,200 vehicles simultaneously and up to 180,000 vehicles annually. AGVs are used here to transport brand-new Chinese cars to parking spaces before shipment to destinations worldwide.

The discipline inspection and supervision commissions conducted integrity-themed meetings, on-site checks, and inspections to facilitate its construction. For example, to address challenges in fire safety compliance, the commissions initiated multiple meetings to drive interdepartmental cooperation, reducing the project timeline from 18 to 13 months and saving 6.65 million yuan in construction management costs. The project passed its final inspection in June of this year.

Similarly, the commissions comprehensively supported the construction of a dedicated railway line in the Lianyungang Economic and Technological Development Zone to improve the cargo transportation efficiency. The construction was once slowed due to the potential risks of rockslides from a nearby mountain. After receiving the report from local authorities, the commissions promptly organized a meeting with departments such as Natural Resources and Housing and Urban-Rural Development to clarify the responsibilities and expedite the resolution of the issue.

Currently, the construction of the Phase II of the Ace BRI Supply Chain Hub has made smooth progress, with main steel structure installations underway. Nearby, the dedicated railway line is ready for cargo trains loaded with furniture, construction materials, and grain to regroup at Yuntaishan station before heading towards Caspian countries.
