Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee, delivered a speech at the fifth plenary session of the 13th CPC Jiangsu Commission for Discipline Inspection that opened on April 13.

Lou emphasized that it’s necessary to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of a speech made by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, at the fourth plenary session of the 19th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the CPC.

Further efforts are needed to strengthen ‘Four Consciousnesses’ - maintain political integrity, think in terms of the big picture, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership, have ‘Four Confidences” in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and put into practice ‘Two Upholds’ - Xi Jinping's position as the core of the CPC Central Committee and the whole Party as well as the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its centralized, unified leadership.

Jiangsu will improve Party governance through resolute efforts from the new starting point and fully tighten Party disciplines in order to guarantee a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the two-front battle - combating the COVID-19 outbreak and bolstering economic and social development.

Wu Zhenglong, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee and Jiangsu governor, Huang Lixin, chairwoman of the CPPCC Jiangsu Committee, and Ren Zhenhe, deputy secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Committee attended the meeting, which was chaired by Wang Changsong, member of the standing committee of the CPC Jiangsu Committee and head of the CPC Jiangsu Commission for Discipline Inspection.
