The Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) ranked second nationwide in overall competitiveness and first in industrial competitiveness, according to the 2024 evaluation report issued by the China National Center for Biotechnology Development.

The report was released at the China Biotech Innovation Conference, held in Suzhou City on October 31.

The evaluation criteria for biopharmaceutical industry parks include factors such as environment, collaboration, talent, technology, and R&D investment. Jiangsu is home to three of China’s top ten parks in comprehensive competitiveness, with Nanjing Biomedical Valley and Taizhou Medical High-Tech Zone ranking 8th and 10th, respectively. Among the top 50 parks, 13 are located in the coastal province.

SIP hosts 24 listed biomedical companies, accounting for over half of Jiangsu’s total, achieving an output value of 152.3 billion yuan in 2023.

The three-day conference covers policy services, and scientific and technological innovation, showcasing development trends and achievements through keynote reports, seminars and exhibitions.
