Jiangsu’s foreign trade in first seven months up 8.1%

Jiangsu’s foreign trade of goods expanded by 8.1% year on year to 3.15 trillion yuan in the first seven months, accounting for 12.7% of the national total, according to Nanjing Customs.

Foreign trade by private enterprises increased by 13% to 1.43 trillion yuan, representing 45.5% of the provincial total. Foreign-funded enterprises and state-owned enterprises recorded foreign trade of 1.47 trillion yuan and 242.19 billion yuan, accounting for 46.8% and 7.7% of the total, respectively.

In the first seven months, Jiangsu’s trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative amounted to 1.4 trillion yuan, reflecting a growth of 12.9% compared to the same period last year.

The province's trade with ASEAN, the United States, and South Korea increased by 10.9%, 5.4%, and 13.3%, respectively.
