Yangtze River Delta’s foreign trade in four months exceeds 5 trillion yuan

In the first four months of this year, imports and exports in the Yangtze River Delta region reached a record high of 5.04 trillion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of 5.6% and accounting for 36.5% of the country's total during the period.

Among trade partners, the delta region’s foreign trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative increased by 7.6%, representing 34.5% of the nationwide total.

The region’s import and export value with other RCEP member countries rose by 4.1% year-on-year, comprising 37.1% of the national total with these countries.

Foreign trade with other BRICS countries saw a 12.7% year-on-year growth, and the share reached 33.9% of the national total.

In the region, foreign trade by private enterprises rose by 9.8%. Furthermore, the import and export of high-tech products expanded by 8.3%, accounting for 35.3% of the country's total.
