Jiangsu boasts 137 towns recognized on the list of China's top 500 town-level economic powerhouses, released by CCID Consulting on August 22. In addition, 37 towns from Jiangsu are within top 100, with Yunshan Town in Kunshan securing first place.

Yushan hosts two national-level parks - Kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone and Kunshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. In 2022, the town achieved a GDP of about 102 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of 5.3%, and the per capita disposable income exceeded 70,000 yuan.

The ranking reflects new trends in China's town development, such as evolution from industrial support role to a catalyst for county-level growth, shift from investment-propelled to consumption-led expansion, and transition to a more comprehensive and regionally integrated economy.

CCID Consulting, a research institute directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, also unveiled a list of the top 50 economic towns in Western China.
