The China-UK Digital Economy Innovation and Development Forum took place in Wuxi City of Jiangsu Province on June 9.
This event marked another top industry gathering hosted in the city to promote international exchange and cooperation in digital transformation. It follows the success of previous events such as the World IoT Expo, NGMC (New-gen Manufacturing Conference) and World Intellectual Manufacturing Conference.
The two-day forum was hosted by the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China–Britain Business Council, and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government.
Its purpose was to facilitate economic cooperation and development empowerment between the two countries through visits and exchanges.
China and the UK have a solid foundation for cooperation and broad prospects in the fields of smart cities, Internet finance, Big Data and cross-border e-commerce.
In the core sectors of digital economy, industrial enterprises above designated size in Wuxi contributed a total output of nearly 660 billion yuan in 2022, accounting for 11.7% of the city's GDP.
