Jiangsu has 28 companies included in the Global Unicorn Index 2023, recently released by the Hurun Research Institute.
The report ranked the world's start-ups founded in the 2000s, worth at least a billion dollars and not yet listed on a public exchange.
The 28 companies are mainly specialized in fields of new energy, biotech, and Artificial Intelligence. Suzhou and Nanjing ranked 6th and 8th in Chinese cities with 10 and eight honored enterprises, respectively.
Three companies from Jiangsu - Envision Energy in Wuxi, SVOLT Energy Technology in Changzhou and Jingdong Property in Suqian - made it to the top 100 of the Hurun Global Unicorn Index, in which SVOLT Energy Technology ranked 71st with a value of 60 billion yuan.
Additionally, Jiangsu has 20 companies named on "Future Unicorn" list. Among Chinese cities, Suzhou, Nanjing and Wuxi ranked 5th, 7th and 10th on the list, respectively.
