Changzhou-made BYD electric cars go global

After a smooth customs declaration completed on January 31, BYD’s 900 electric cars manufactured in Changzhou City are now well on its way to reaching the Netherlands market.

As BYD continues to explore overseas markets, it also enhances the city’s global reputation as a hub of NEVs. The company’s Changzhou plant is the exclusive production base for ATTO 3 cars, equipped with the all-new BYD e-Platform 3.0.

In 2022, the commerce department of Changzhou National Hi-tech District (CND) worked with the city’s customs, taxation and other agencies to fully support BYD’s exports. The plant is expected to export 150,000 cars this year, mainly ATTO 3 and Seal models. Efforts will be made to improve electric cars to Japan, Thailand, Australia, Brazil and other countries.

In recent years, CND saw a strong growth of NEVs and core auto parts, with more than 2,000 enterprises specialized in the industry, among which 300 are enterprises above designated size.
