Although the Spring Festival is the most important holiday in China and a time for family reunion, enterprises in Jiangsu Province have continued to make active efforts to boost foreign trade.
Feng Gang, a manager of Overseas Import and Export subsidiary of China Jiangsu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group (CJI), left his family members on January 22, the Spring Festival, for a business trip to the United States. In the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE 2023) in Atlanta, Feng met with old and new clients, learned about new development trends, and exchanged ideas on cooperation plans.
Believing that a face-to-face meeting is more important than 1,000 emails, Feng also visited the company’s cooperative warehouse, discussed the logistics partnership, and paid visits to clients too in order to fully understand their needs. Such efforts will help the company’s expansion in the US market and also enhance its service.
To promote the preparation for an industry fair, the team from the Jiangsu Overseas Cooperation and Investment Company (JOCIC), responsible for the China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Abu Dhabi, held an on-site meeting with exhibition service companies on January 24, the third day of the first lunar month.
More than 50 leading enterprises from new energy, oil equipment and technology, advanced manufacturing and other sectors are expected to participate the fair with an exhibition area of over 5,000 square meters. The exhibition aims to provide industry and policy information to Chinese manufactures planning to tap into the markets of the Middle East and North Africa, and also facilitate exchange and cooperation. To improve the publicity of this large-scale event and the success of deals, JOCIC held in-depth talks with its partners in 3 hours and finally reached agreement on the work plan, laying a good foundation for the later work.
Meanwhile, the expansion project of Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Harare, Zimbabwe, undertaken by CJI, is in full swing as the new terminal is expected to be delivered by mid-year. The project is progressing smoothly, with the ceiling and wall and floor tiling works partly finished and guardrails, mirrors and door hardware installation underway. Progress has also been made in building the car park and roads while construction of an VIP building has also started after the design won the government approval.
