Jiangsu will support key enterprises to participate in 206 overseas trade fairs this year amid efforts to boost foreign trade, according to the province's latest work conference on commerce.
In 2022, Jiangsu secured first place in China's provincial-level regions in terms of actual use of foreign capital, reached a new historical high in foreign trade growth, and ranked second in total retail sales of social consumer goods, according to the conference.
The meeting noted that Jiangsu will expand exports of new energy vehicles and batteries, push forward the development of 13 national cross-border e-commerce pilot zones, and accelerate the cultivation and growth of cross-border e-commerce industrial parks and overseas warehouses.
The coastal province will actively promote investment in foreign countries and also invite multinational companies and business associations to come to visit Jiangsu. Efforts will be made to create first-class business environment, promote the introduction of the Jiangsu Foreign Investment Regulations, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of foreign investors by giving full play to the role of a complaint mechanism at the provincial, municipal and county levels. Jiangsu will continue to hold meetings between governmental departments and enterprises to enhance communication and understanding.
In addition, under the Belt and Road Initiative framework, Jiangsu will promote trade and investment cooperation with key regions, enhance cooperation among industrial parks, support enterprises to participate in exhibitions, and expand overseas warehouses.
