Taicang Port has handled more than 300,000 vehicles this year including the export of nearly 120,000 commercial vehicles.

Two vessels of COSCO Shipping departed from Taicang port on November 24, carrying 2,500 and 1,750 commercial vehicles to the ports of Vado, Italy and Zeebrugge, Belgium respectively. On the same day, another vessel loaded with construction machinery and commercial vehicles worth 220 million yuan left Taicang for port of Victoria, Brazil.

Taicang port is surrounded by an area with a full-fledged automobile industry chain. There are now 13 domestic automobile brands including JAC, Chery, Changan, FAW, SAIC and Great Wall that chose Taicang for exporting.

The vehicle export is gradually expanding from mainly Latin America, Asia and Africa to other markets in Europe, the United States and Australia.
