Nantong City in Jiangsu Province unveiled the Digital Transportation Industrial Park in Chongchuan Economic Development Zone on October 11.
The inauguration ceremony also saw the signing of agreements for 15 transportation projects.
Jointly built by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Transport and the Nantong Municipal Government, the park will promote deep integration of new technologies such as Big Data and Artificial Intelligence with transportation.
In the starting phase, the park covers an area of nearly 6.7 hectares and includes 24 buildings for R&D, testing and workshops, with a total floor area of more than 100,000 square meters.
It will take advantage of the development of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) industry spearheaded by the National Science and Technology Park of Tongji University and the IoV pilot zone recognized at the province level to further advance innovation in the fields of vehicle units, drive-by-wire, sensors and high precision positioning.
