The 2022 Entrepreneurship Week for International Elites opened in Suzhou on July 10, attracting 2,796 participants from the world and 2,189 projects seeking cooperation through the leading startup event.
Sixteen academicians are participating in the 3-day event held both on-site and online, which also celebrates the 3rd Suzhou Scientists Day. The program has attracted the entry of 1,964 innovative projects including 1,045 from abroad.
Suzhou has announced a series of measures to attract young talents, such as a funding of up to 5 million yuan, a living subsidy of up to 50,000 yuan and 1,000 rent-free apartments. The city will make efforts to create quality communities for the professionals and meet their needs for living, education and healthcare, leisure, and recreation.
The city also launched three innovation initiatives in the fields of the marine information technology, the smart textile and wearable technology, and the high-power semiconductor laser. Led by three industry-leading enterprises, such initiatives will pool resources from companies, universities and research institutes to make technological breakthroughs.
The Entrepreneurship Week for International Elites, held for 14 consecutive years, have brought nearly 30,000 high-end talents to seek opportunities in Suzhou and more than 9,000 projects to settle in the city. Suzhou ranks first in China for 9 years in a row in terms of the number of entrepreneurial talents recognized at the national level.
