The Suzhou Campus of Nanjing University, one of the oldest and most prestigious higher learning institutions in China, will begin admitting students this year.
The campus with four schools plans to admit about 500 undergraduate students as well as over 100 Master's degree and PhD students. Students will move to the Suzhou campus next year after completing a year of study at the university’s Gulou campus.
The new campus will give full play to its geographical advantages and align its programs with “national strategies, academic strengths and Suzhou's development needs." Priority will be given to five disciplines, namely artificial intelligence and information technology, functional materials and intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine and health, earth system science and environment, and digital economy and management.
The Suzhou campus consists of the east and west zones that will be developed gradually.
