As COVID-19 has placed unprecedented stresses on food supply chains, Changzhou has strengthened efforts to help sell agricultural products both online and on-site.

The pandemic has hit hard Lihua Food, Jiangsu’s leading supplier of frozen chicken, causing half of produces to stack in the company. This has increased financial pressure both to the company and some 100 chicken farms in partnership.

In response, Changzhou Supply and Marketing Cooperative has acted quickly to promote sales, helped the company get the green pass for produces delivery, and also assisted the company’s e-commerce platform.

Wang Fei, an officer of Changzhou Supply and Marketing Cooperative, said efforts have been made to connect with local resources and sell the produces through a distribution platform, such as about 5,000 frozen chickens of Lihua Food in each shipping. It has also sought help from the provincial supply and marketing cooperative as well as agricultural markets in surrounding areas.
