Wuxi Studios, a national digital film industrial park in Binhu District of Wuxi City, held a ground-breaking ceremony for its Phase III expansion on January 11.

Also known as Wuxi (National) Digital Film Industrial Park, the site hosted the production of 298 films in 2021, an increase of 14.2% year-on-year.

The Phase III expansion covers an area of 9.87 hectares and involves a total investment of 2 billion yuan. It includes an avenue featuring TV and film elements, a hub for producers, a hotel and an apartment for talent in the industry.

The ceremony also saw the unveiling of two industrial parks focusing on metaverse start-ups and digital cultural creations respectively.
