The 2021 China New Energy Development Forum opened in Yancheng City of Jiangsu Province on November 15.
Representatives from top agencies, leading enterprises and industry professionals exchanged ideas on many key topics related to new energy in the forum, which also showcased the latest technology and ideas of sustainable development.
The forum also saw the signing of a strategic agreement between Yancheng government and China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC), which pledge to improve cooperation in wind power equipment manufacturing, new energy bus and other fields.
Meanwhile, the event unveiled agreement of 23 projects with a total investment of 61.9 billion yuan. These projects cover wind and photovoltaic power equipment, energy storage, hydrogen energy and smart energy in the city’s 11 counties and districts.
CRRC president Lou Qiliang said Yancheng is committed to building itself into a green energy city. Since 2010, CRRC has made investment in many sectors in the city including wind turbines and new energy-powered commercial vehicles.
Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, was invited to deliver a keynote speech via video link. She said that Yancheng is the first city in the Yangtze River Delta to have new energy power generation capacity exceeding 10 million kW. This city-led effort contributes to a new model of smart and integrated energy ecosystem. She called for Chinese energy companies to use World Energy Council as a bridge to reach out to the rest of the world and provide new energy solutions.
Zhou Bin, deputy secretary of the CPC Yancheng Committee and acting mayor, said Yancheng welcomes industry elites and leaders to share their advice with the city. Yancheng is also glad to be the home of talents, cutting-edge technologies and innovative achievements.
