Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (WND) officially became home of China’s first carbon-neutral technology fund worth 10 billion yuan, jointly set up by clean energy supplier Envision Group and venture capital firm Sequoia Capital on September 6.

The fund will invest in and nurture leading technology companies in carbon-neutral field and build a new zero-carbon industrial system.

WND is the first in Jiangsu Province to launch an industry zone specialized on carbon-neutral technology, with financial efforts in full swing to drive the development of green industries.

WND has also partnered with Envision Group to jointly develop a management platform that can automatically trace, analyze and visualize data related to carbon emission and energy consumption. This will help achieve carbon neutrality by combining efforts of government departments, industry zone and enterprises.
