Yangzhou Port handles 80.3 mln tons of cargo in six months, up 21.47%

As one of the nine major ports in Jiangsu Province, Yangzhou Port has maintained a smooth growth in the first half of the year, according to the Yangtze River Shipping Administration, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport.

From January to June, the port handled 80.3 million tons of cargo, an increase of 21.47% year-on-year. This included 7.41 million tons of cargo for foreign trade, up 54.99%. Over 330,000 TEUs were handled through the port during the period, a year-on-year growth of 54.24%.

Compared with the first quarter, the amount of cargo, cargo for foreign trade, and number of TEUs in the second quarter increased by 11.67%, 11.78% and 29.17% respectively.
