Nanjing ranked fifth on a list of China’s 19 innovative cities after Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, according to a report by the Yangzijiang Institute for Innovative City in Jiangsu Province on January 28.
Nanjing has made strides to create an innovation-friendly environment. The city is now home to 15 unicorn startups and 312 gazelle companies, young and very fast-growing companies, and also behind the incubation of 95 unicorn enterprises.
