Jiangsu achieved positive growth year-on-year in terms of industrial output value in March and led the country in resuming work and production amid efforts to fight against COVID-19, according to a press conference of the provincial government on April 15.
Li Feng, deputy director of the Jiangsu Department of Industry and Information Technology, said 99.7 percent of industrial enterprises above designated size resume operation with returned workers accounting for 94 percent of the total, up from 75.6 percent.
The province also had 84 percent of small and medium-sized industrial enterprises back to work. Data of industrial electricity consumption showed production capacity was back to 94 percent of the normal level, up from 71.1 percent.
Jiangsu will accelerate efforts to resume work as COVID-19 prevention and control measures become routine. The province will also increase industrial research, guarantee service to key enterprises, strive to maintain stable industrial growth, and complete industrial chains to enhance the overall competitiveness.
