Jiangsu Province saw 96,000 inbound and outbound air passenger trips during the eight-day Spring Festival holiday, marking a 2.6-fold increase from the same period last year.
As Singapore, Malaysia and other countries implemented visa-free policy for Chinese tourists, more residents from Jiangsu chose to spend the Lunar New Year holiday abroad.
About half of the outbound trips, or 25,000 trips, were made primarily for visiting friends and relatives or for sightseeing. South Korea, Japan and Singapore are among the popular destinations for passengers departing from Jiangsu.
