Shi Mao, a native of Jiangsu Province in his twenties, worked as the music director for Snowboard Parallel Giant Slalom and Snowboard Cross matches in Yunding Ski Resort in Chongli, Zhangjiakou during the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

He began working as a sports DJ in 2016 and won wide attention at the World Table Tennis Macao before being invited to contribute to the sports presentation for Beijing 2022.

For the two thrilling and eye-catching events, he used different musical styles to build an exciting atmosphere. His selections included the China-chic songs, most popular pop hits and his own remix, using soundtrack from a database of 16,000 recordings prepared by the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee.

The DJ said he made efforts to understand an athlete’s information and preferences in advance and then prepare appropriate music.

He is now preparing for the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games, which will be held from March 4 to 13. He plans to feature inspirational songs and convey more positive energy, so that everyone on-site will feel encouraged and joyful.
