Jiangsu has sent 685 teams with 11,182 members and 1,800 vehicles to basically clear the snow on expressways stretching for 6,228 kilometers since snowy and rainy weather hit the province on February 7.
Moderate or heavy snow lashed many cities in the province including Nanjing, Wuxi, Zhenjiang and Changzhou, causing some expressway sections to be placed under speed limit and other restrictions. Traffic authorities have also strengthened the road patrolling and inspection to clear snow as soon as possible and ensure safety of driving.
The snow on Jiangsu’s expressways has been basically removed so far with no casualties reported although the number of minor auto accidents increased slightly. The traffic restriction measures will continue for the moment.
Snow and ice clearing efforts are underway on some sections of the emergency lane and ramps.
