Nanjing City offered a new disability support program on July 1, which received application for the care service from 91 people on the same day.

A dedicated online platform and an app for the program also went live, allowing disabled people to submit the information and apply for the service easily.

In the program, the insured who suffer from disability for over three months in a row due to old age, illness and other reasons and is rated as of “severe disability” can apply for the service.

The program includes two types. The first refers to home-based care for 30-54 hours per month, with the cost of 45 yuan per hour covered by a special fund. The second refers to receiving the care at service-providers, with the cost of 60 yuan per day covered by the fund.
