The Yangtze River Delta is one of the most economically active, open and innovative regions in China. A blind box game represents the unknown, popular interest, innovation and sharing. What happens when the two are combined?
In delivering a keynote speech at opening ceremony of 1st China International Import Expo on November 5, 2018, President Xi Jinping announced upgrade for integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta as a national strategy. Today, the Yangtze River Delta, a top investment destination, has never been so active and dynamic.
On December 1, Xinhua News Media Group launched a large-scale reporting series featuring British media professional Frank, who undertook a blind box-style discovery journey of the delta. Each blind box includes a question about development issues. From his perspective and in his own ways, you will find unique stories showing the delta’s move towards integration while the riddles are unraveled.
A WeChat game related to the discovery trip has also been launched. You can scan the QR code and join a tour unlike any other. The game allows you to answer questions and collect virtual blind boxes, which you can exchange with your friends. Some lucky participants will receive an incredible physical blind box and cultural and creative gifts.
The treasure hunt game includes six virtual mini figures. Twenty of the first 200 users who collect all six mini figures before December 7 will each receive one set of six physical Huishan clay figurines and 50 will receive one clay figure each. A folk craft made in Wuxi, the Huishan clay figurine is recognized as an intangible cultural heritage. All players also have the chance to win a cultural and creative product as a gift. You can only win once.
