The Red Sunset Volunteers Service Team in Wuxi City celebrated the 20th anniversary of founding in Xihui Park on November 17. The group runs a type of elderly care service featuring mutual assistance, meaning healthy people take care of the sick and the younger look after the elder. Launched by six people, the team now has over 100 members, mostly single. The organization also has five interest groups for those passionate about traditional Chinese opera, singing, fashion, dance, and fitness. These groups consist of 16 squads and form an effective network to engage with elderly people, welcome their participation in many activities, and help seniors find meaning and purpose in their lives as they age.
