China’s most advanced bulk cargo terminal built in Nantong

The renovation of berths No. 3 and No. 4 at the New World Wharf in Tiansheng Port Area, under the administration of Nantong Port, completed the handover on November 11. The most advanced in China, the terminal is also the first to be able to handle loading and unloading operations of bulk cargos of timber, fertilizer and grain. It has also set new records in applying three new technologies.

The project had an investment of 1.39 billion yuan including 400 million yuan for equipment cost. It consisted of a 70,000 ton-class berth and a 10,000 ton-class berth over 436.5 meters of shoreline, which can handle 7.749 million tons of cargo a year. The project covers an area of 406,000 sqm, for roads, warehouses, auxiliary facilities and greenery, and the floor area of buildings totaled 90,000 sqm.
