The renovated Kangli Road in Wujiang District of Suzhou City opened on November 9 to directly link with Donghang Road in Shanghai’s Qingpu District. A new bus service also went into operation on the day to connect Oriental Land Station in Qingpu and the Long-distance Bus Station in Fenhu, Wujiang.
Since the launch of a demonstration area in the Yangtze River Delta on ecologically friendly development, this cross-provincial road is the first joint project between Jiangsu and Shanghai, which cuts the travel time between Jinze Town in Qingpu and Fenhu from over 40 minutes to only 5 minutes.
The renovation of 4.54 kilometers long road, now a two-way four-lane highway, involved a total investment of 410 million yuan.
