During an inspection tour to the Jiangsu Health Commission on October 9, the first work day after the 8-day holiday, the province’s governor Wu Zhenglong expressed thanks to health workers and urged efforts to continue the pandemic prevention and control in autumn and winter.
Wu said, as autumn and winter are important periods in the COVID-19 response, Jiangsu will give top priority to people’s life and health, carry forward the spirit of fighting the pandemic outbreak earlier this year, make response measures routine and goal-orientated, and stay agile and flexible. The province will highlight the principle of early detection, reporting, isolation and treatment, put into place all targeted measures to effectively prevent the pandemic resurgence, and safeguard people’s life and health.
On behalf of the CPC Jiangsu Committee and the provincial government, Wu expressed his thanks to those on the frontline of the pandemic fight. Facing the raging pandemic, the province’s health workers stood up to meet the challenge, remained committed in pandemic prevention and control, and achieved significant progress while contributing to the quick recovery of economy and society.
