Yangzhou exhibition shows Grand Canal archaeological achievements

The China Grand Canal Museum in Yangzhou opened an exhibition on May 14, focusing on archaeological achievements as 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the Grand Canal’s inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The exhibition features over 240 pieces (sets) of relics curated from eight provinces and municipalities along the ancient waterway system, most of which are on display for the first time.

“The exhibits shed light on the engineering, commerce, and preservation efforts of the canal, helping the public better understand the Grand Canal and explore its cultural heritage and modern-day values,” said Zheng Jing, curator of the museum.
