A groundbreaking ceremony for building the Jiangsu-Macao Pavilion was held at the University of Macau on December 14.
Suzhou Overseas Friendship Association and the Centre for Chinese History and Culture at the University of Macau co-hosted an exhibition of Suzhou's intangible cultural heritage items in 2019. The classical Suzhou gardens attracted much attention at the exhibition. To further promote Chinese traditional culture and enhance friendship between the two cities, the Jiangsu Overseas Friendship Association and the Suzhou Overseas Friendship Association donated a replica of the Surging Waves Pavilion (Canglangting), an iconic structure in Jiangnan culture, to the university.
