Nanjing will host nearly 100 cultural events to stimulate consumption around the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays from September 15 to October 8.
The city’s Xi’nanli historic block has been put on a new look with all kinds of delicacies and ornaments featuring Osmanthus fragrans ready to welcome residents and tourists, such as tea and cakes flavored by the plant’s flowers.
Organized by Our Festival Nanjing Office and Nanjing Tourism Group, a promotion event was held at the site to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, which will fall on September 21 this year.
Our Festival Nanjing Office is behind many impressive cultural events focusing on the theme of flower of each season, such as plum blossom for the Spring Festival and the Lantern Festival. Traditional celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the city usually includes appreciating flowers of Osmanthus fragrans.
As a centerpiece of the cultural events, Xi’nanli is hosting a bustling market filled with time-honored restaurants, local artisans and masters of intangible cultural heritage. The market opens at 4:00 pm every day and will last until September 21.
