The first batch of materials donated by Xinghua City in Jiangsu Province including 3,000 masks and 40,000 pairs of medical gloves, have recently been sent to its sister city of Levanto in Italy, to help fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak.
Written on the packages were also encouraging words such as “come on, Italy. We’re with you.”
At present, the city has also pooled the second batch of medical materials that will be sent to Levanto soon.
The pandemic has hit Italy very hard, and the situation in the sister city of Levanto is of great concern for Xinghua. Xinghua People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries launched a charity activity of "Helping Italy" and received assistance from all sectors of society.
