The 2nd Chinese Tangbao Food Culture Festival opened in Jingjiang City of Jiangsu Province from November 22 to 26, alongside with the China (Jingjiang) Baozi Industry Development Conference.
Tangbao or soup buns are a large, soup-filled type of steamed buns (Baozi) in Chinese cuisine. Various soup bun varieties can be found in the country, and Jingjiang is known as the hometown of Tangbao. The city’s well-known delicacies include the steamed bun with crab roe soup stuffing, which wins Chinese Geographical Indication certification.
At the event, Jingjiang’s many local hotels showcased their signature steamed buns with crab roe soup stuffing, attracting the attention of visitors and shoppers.
Representatives from nearly 60 famous Baozi enterprises in China attended the conference to exchange ideas and discuss development opportunities.
The event, co-hosted by the China Hotel Association and the Jingjiang Municipal Government, also included a series of activities, such as a cooking contest, selection of Jingjiang’s famous restaurants, dishes and chefs, as well as food exhibition and sales.
