Seventy-eight fishing boats set sail from the port of Yanwei in Guanyun County, Lianyungang City on June 15 to a pilot fishing area reserved for catching small acetes until July 15.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs designated three zones within fishing areas No 110 and No 111, capped the number of vessels to 100 and the catch of the krill-like shrimps to 100 tons for each vessel, and limited the total catch of 5,000 tons at most. Specific requirements were also put forward for the meshes of the fishing nets and the size and power of the fishing boats. Meanwhile, Yanwei Port was named the only landing point.

Tiny acetes are krill-like shrimp that are just a few centimeters long. Lianyungang has various acete products well-known at home and abroad thanks to its abundant offshore resources.
