China Eastern resumed the direct flight between Nanjing and Sydney on July 18, marking the airline's first intercontinental passenger route in the coastal province after suspension due to the pandemic.
China Eastern operates three outbound flights per week, departing at 19:10 from Nanjing Lukou International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and arriving in Sydney at 8:00 the next day (9:00 the next day starting from September 30). The return flight departs from Sydney at 12:00 (13:00 starting from September 30) on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and arrives in Nanjing at 21:25 the same day.
Nanjing now operates 14 regional and international passenger routes and is ready to expand its services in accordance with the passenger volume during the summer holiday. Currently, the average daily number of passengers through Nanjing's border control remains at 5,300, a year-on-year growth of 16 times, and the passenger throughput in July is expected to exceed 160,000.
