Pishi, a historical street in Yangzhou’s Guangling District, recently hosted a market featuring creative products that reflect a new lifestyle and eco-friendly consumption.
The market showcased recycled items with new functions and interesting floral designs necessary to create a delightful environment. This event attracted many visitors and local residents, significantly boosting the sales of stores along the street.
Pishi, about 700 meters long, derived its name from its history as a trade center for fur products. Today, it is home to about 60 stores, including restaurants, cultural venues, and B&Bs. Local authorities have utilized the street to organize a diverse range of activities, such as a coffee culture festival and a book market.
In April, the street was recognized as a candidate for a province-level nightlife destination by the province’s Department of Culture and Tourism. Pishi is gradually transforming from being merely an instagrammable landmark that people take photos to becoming a vibrant commerce hub.
